Stay Motivated As We Age

As I get older... oops, I mean wiser, staying motivated in this wild ride called life is crucial. Especially when you've got a family or loved ones counting on you to be their superhero. With 40 years of "been there, done that," I've had a rollercoaster of epic trials, tribulations, ups, downs, wins, and losses. I'm blessed to still be here, spreading motivation like confetti for those who need it. Without those faceplants, flops, and fiascos, I wouldn't be the dazzling person I am today.

Now, let's talk about that pesky little voice in our heads—the one saying, "I'm tired," "I'll deal with that when I have the time and energy," "It's not worth it," or "I have no clue what I'm doing." Oh, it's still there, alright, but guess what's battling it? My NEVER GIVE UP voice! It shouts, "You have a purpose, even if it's hiding right now," and "You were put on this planet to sprinkle goodness and positivity like glitter in the dark." It also says, "Baby steps towards big goals, no matter how long it takes, will make a difference," and "I want to watch my daughter grow up and be proud of her dad." Plus, it reminds me, "I'm lucky to have people who love and care for me, like my wife, daughter, mom, dad, sisters, and brothers."

So there I was, sweating like a popsicle in the sun, watching my daily dose of "you got this" videos during my morning workout, when I stumbled upon this epic awards acceptance speech by Jelly Roll. Now, this wasn't your average "thank you, mom" speech—it hit me right in the feels! Maybe it's because Jelly Roll and I are practically twins in the age department, or maybe it was his words that packed a punch stronger than my protein shake. Either way, I got so pumped up that a single tear made a dramatic escape from my eye. Who knew motivation could be so moving?

Powerfully Motivating!
